Kiihtyvä kasvihuoneilmiö kuumentaa mieliä ja sulattaa jäätiköitä. Happamat sateet tuhoavat metsiä ja järviä. Otsonikerros ohenee ja yhä enemmän haitallista ultraviolettisäteilyä pääsee Maahan. 20 viime vuoden aikana hyvät ympäristöuutiset ovat olleet vähissä, mutta jotakin on sentään opittu ja vahinkoja saatu korjatuksikin.
